SC Cambuur has again achieved a big victory in the Kitchen Champion Division. Henk de Jong’s team was already well ahead in the previous duels with Jong FC Utrecht (5-2) and Helmond Sport (1-5) and on Sunday afternoon a 5-0 win over FC Dordrecht was added. The victory puts Cambuur on a level with Almere City FC and two points behind leader NAC Breda, which, like Almere City, has also played one less match: sixteen for eighteen points.

Cambuur, which is the absolute goal machine of the Kitchen Champion Division with 26 goals after 7 matches, failed to take the lead after a few minutes of play. Issa Kallon crossed the leg of Özgür Aktas and so Robert Mühren got the chance to take care of the 1-0 from eleven meters. The attacker, however, shot the ball over the goal via the crossbar. However, Mühren more than made up for his mistake afterwards. After a handball by Julius Bliek, the ball again hit the spot and Mühren made no mistake this time: 1-0.

A few minutes later, Mühren also signed for the 2-0 when he headed the ball in at the first post after a wonderful attack. The 3-0 fell eleven minutes before half-time: after a whippet over the last line by Kallon, it was Michael Breij who saw how he flew his hard shot into Dordrecht’s goal. The downer on the comfortable rest position for the Leeuwarders was the failure of Kallon, who grabbed his hamstrings and had to be replaced just before the break.

Cambuur was also clearly the better team in the second half, but was only able to finish twenty minutes before time via Giovanni Korte, who had come in for Kallon: 4-0. In the extra time he also took care of the final score. After a dribble, he pushed the ball under Anthony Swolfs: 5-0. Cambuur will play against NAC Breda next Friday; bottom of the league FC Dordrecht will receive Almere City FC in exactly one week.
