Jordan Henderson looks back on his debut for Ajax with a proud feeling. Although the midfielder did not win the match against PSV with his team (1-1), he emphasized in conversation with Hans Kraay junior in front of the camera of ESPN that it was a great honor to be able to play in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The top match between Ajax and PSV did not produce a winner on Saturday evening. In the Johan Cruijff ArenA the final score was 1-1 after ninety minutes. Steven Berghuis opened the score on behalf of Ajax, after which Luuk de Jong brought the score back into balance.

The draw means the second loss of points for leader PSV of this Eredivisie season. In the meantime, Ajax remains in fifth place due to the draw. Above all, it was a special match for Henderson, who made his debut in the team of coach John van 't Schip.

“It was a good match,” says Henderson. “The atmosphere was great and there were two teams that wanted to win. It was a special day for me and my family. It was very special to play in this stadium. It's a great stadium.”

“I was a bit nervous before the match, but it was more of a healthy tension: wanting to play. I haven't played such a big match in a while. It was a great feeling and the team is great.”

“What else can we expect from me? I always give 100 percent for the team, for the club. And what you can't expect from me? Well, I'm not going to score every week,” the midfielder laughs.

“I can certainly do things better, but it was an honor and privilege to be on the field. I feel fit and have completed ninety minutes, so I'm happy with that. Unfortunately we couldn't score the winning goal,” said Henderson.
