The transfer market has reopened and that means that there are a lot of rumors going around in the various foreign media. Bruno Fernandes is by Sport associated with a possible move to Barcelona. The Portuguese midfielder of Manchester United is clearly not pleased with such stories and via a post on Instagram Fernandes makes it clear that there is nothing true of a possible deal with the Catalan superpower.

“I thought we started the new year a few days ago, but it looks like it’s already April 1! Or is this just another piece of bad journalism?” Fernandes wrote in response to a post from Sports TV Portugal, which reports that the forty-time international of Portugal would have been offered to Barcelona. Fernandes therefore seems to be reluctant to leave Manchester United, despite the fact that manager Ralf Rangnick only used him as a substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers (0-1 defeat) on Monday.

Fernandes, who is committed to Manchester United until mid-2025, was arrested earlier this week Sport mentioned as a possible addition to Barcelona. However, according to the Spanish newspaper, the midfielder will only be seen by trainer Xavi if a deal with Erling Braut Haaland is not possible. The Borussia Dortmund star player is reportedly a top priority at the Camp Nou and Fernandes is being labeled ‘plan-B’.

Manchester United deposited €55 million in January 2020 for Fernandes, who two years later stands on 45 goals and 34 assists in 104 games in all competitions. In the first year and a half at Old Trafford in particular, the playmaker received the necessary compliments. This season, however, there is more and more criticism of the ball-skilled midfielder. Nevertheless, Fernandes is expected to start on Monday in Manchester United’s FA Cup match with Aston Villa.
