Latest update:

Matchday 18 of the Eredivisie is over. PSV failed to win for the first time this season and was only left with one point in the away match against FC Utrecht (1-1). Feyenoord was too strong for Vitesse 1-2, while Ajax won 4-1 at home against RKC Waalwijk. These are the highlights from last weekend!

Although Brian Brobbey failed to score a hat-trick on Sunday afternoon by missing a penalty, the 21-year-old striker was once again of great value to Ajax. Brobbey was very productive in his last eight Eredivisie matches: the Amsterdammer managed to score eight times and also provided four assists.

NEC defender Calvin Verdonk is in the Team of the Week for the second week in a row Football zone. The 26-year-old left back was not only important with his defensive actions against FC Twente (1-0 win). Just after half-time, Verdonk shot a free kick from a great distance behind goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall. Due to his expiring contract, Verdonk seems to be an interesting player for various clubs at home and abroad.

Excelsior striker Couhaib Driouech also seems ready for the next step. On Friday evening, the Haarlemmer opened the score against his childhood sweetheart SC Heerenveen (3-0 win). Driouech was a plague for the Frisian defense and could probably earn Excelsior a nice amount next summer.

The VZ Team of the Week: Jasper Schendelaar (PEC Zwolle); Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord), Redouan El Yaakoubi (Excelsior Rotterdam), Joris Kramer (Go Ahead Eagles), Calvin Verdonk (NEC Nijmegen); Dirk Proper (NEC Nijmegen), Willum Willumsson (Go Ahead Eagles), Brian De Keersmaecker (Heracles Almelo); Couhaib Driouech (Excelsior Rotterdam), Brian Brobbey (Ajax), Othmane Boussaid (FC Utrecht).
