PSV and FC Twente are approaching an agreement about Joël Drommel, writes The Telegraph Sunday night. According to the newspaper, Twente has contacted PSV to reopen the negotiations, after the people from Eindhoven initially dropped out due to the high asking price. The transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days for an amount of 3.5 to 4 million euros.

PSV did not want to meet the asking price of six million euros. Drommel himself already said that he also thinks it is too high a transfer fee. For a long time, Twente thought it could earn more than three to four million euros from the switch, but is now binding anyway. “The Twente top contacted PSV itself last Friday. It wants to sell Drommel from a financial point of view”, writes The Telegraph. Drommel has a contract until mid-2022 in Enschede.

Tuesday reported RTV East that a club ‘from the top four’ in France had come forward. Technical director Jan Streuer of Twente hoped for such a scenario, because it could increase the transfer fee. The keeper himself, however, did not like a switch to Ligue 1. He already has an agreement in principle with PSV. A five-year contract with PSV is ready for Drommel and there is certainly a chance that he will be the first choice in Eindhoven next season. Yvon Mvogo signed a two-year lease at the Philips Stadium, but RB Leipzig has the option to recall the closing post this summer.

It Eindhovens Dagblad wrote at the end of last month that Drommel himself has one of the keys to realize his transfer faster. The keeper and his agent together are entitled to a quarter of the transfer fee. If they refrain from doing so, both parties will come closer to each other. Through The Telegraph that part of the transfer fee will not be discussed on Sunday evening. Football International writes that Drommel waives the part of the lump sum payment.
