Peter Bosz is full of praise for Mauro Júnior after the Ajax – PSV (1-1) match. The Brazilian started in midfield on the Eindhoven side, which was largely the result of a number of injuries on the PSV side. According to Bosz, Mauro 'did a great job'.

Noa Lang, Joey Veerman, Malik Tillman, Ricardo Pepi and Guus Til, among others, were missing from the PSV selection, and therefore Mauro was allowed to show from the first minute. It meant his first starting spot in the Eredivisie in almost a year.

“I really think he did a great job and I am happy that we were able to bring him back,” Bosz said at the press conference after the top match.

“The first time in the starting line-up in the Eredivisie, in the ArenA against Ajax. That is really not easy, to play a top match and then achieve this.”

Bosz could live with the draw, as he admitted to the camera moments before ESPN already on. “I'd rather win, but maybe it wasn't really an option. So I think this was a fair result.”

According to Bosz, PSV 'didn't play big'. “We started playing football in the first half, and in doing so we pushed Ajax back a bit, without having many clear-cut opportunities. I think it was an intense match, and you could see that in many players on both sides who were quite exhausted.”

“The offensive line-up on our bench was simply very poor,” Bosz continued. “Normally you would change with speed, and add another Pepi, then you can force something. But that wasn't possible today.”
