Niklas Süle trained hard during his holiday. BILD reports that the Borussia Dortmund center back has lost no less than eight kilos in the past period. Süle returned after a break back on the training field of the German club on Wednesday after a few weeks.

In photos from the first training session of BVB In preparation for the new season, Süle does indeed look quite fit. A big difference from the end of May, when photos surfaced, where there were doubts about whether they had been edited or not, in which the German seemed to be struggling with considerable excess weight.

It caused quite a stir in Germany, especially since Dortmund were preparing for the Champions League final against Real Madrid on June 1. The 28-year-old defender was on the bench for ninety minutes and had to watch as Real Madrid won 0-2 at Wembley.

Almost a month and a half later, Süle seems to be doing a lot better. According to BILD the 1.95 meter tall defender used his vacation to get in top condition. Süle is now eight kilos lighter, according to reports from Germany.

According to the German newspaper, the arrival of new head coach Nuri Sahin has given Süle 'new motivation'. The man-marker reportedly hopes that Sahin will take more care of him. Something that was apparently less the case under Edin Terzic.

Terzic also did not always have room for Süle in the back line last season. The now departed coach usually chose Nico Schlotterbeck and Mats Hummels in the center of the defense.

Hummels has now left Dortmund, which seems to give Süle opportunities. However, a new competitor has arrived: Waldemar Anton, who came from VfB Stuttgart, was presented as a new signing this week.
