Bojan Krkic will take up a managerial position at FC Barcelona, the Catalans announced on Wednesday morning. Bojan will work as a football coordinator in the new Catalan governing body. Former player Deco is the new director of football affairs los Azulgranawho also confirmed that a contract extension for Xavi, Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal is imminent.
In August, Bojan was already named to fulfill a role in the board of FC Barcelona. It was not yet known in what capacity exactly he would work for the Catalans, as they adjusted the organizational structure of the club. Now it is clear: he will become a football coordinator.

He will act as a liaison between the first team and the sporting management. He will work with Xavi and will mainly deal with the youth players and the loaned players. He also sits on the sports committee, where he reports to Deco, Vice President Rafael Yuste and President Joan Laporta.
Bojan announced in March this year that he would stop playing football. As a player, he was associated with Barcelona between 1999 and 2011, where he would eventually play 163 games in the main squad. The Serbian Spaniard scored 41 goals and 19 assists. Bojan was known as one of La Masia’s greatest talents, but never fully realized his promise. Barça loaned Bojan to Ajax in the 2013/14 season, but the attacker also failed to impress in Amsterdam. On behalf of Ajax he scored 5 goals and 6 assists in 32 official matches.
