Besiktas has announced through official channels that Fabrice N’Sakala is no longer part of the roster. That announcement was already in the air, as the 31-year-old wing defender has already shared photos via Instagram Stories in recent days from which it can be concluded that he currently has to train individually. N’Sakala’s disciplinary suspension is said to be related to his recent behavior on Instagram.

N’Sakala liked posts from several Trabzonspor players, following the current Süper Lig leader’s 1-2 victory over Besiktas. After that defeat, he traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo for the World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania and Benin, in which he did not make any playing minutes. After his return to Istanbul, N’Sakala apparently had to train individually, as it turned out in recent days.

The thirteen-time Congolese international posted a photo of the back of a car on Instagram, which contained a bag of balls. “Care about yourself, don’t forget that,” N’Sakala wrote. He also shared a video showing that he was in a dressing room of the youth teams of Besiktas. Besiktas will officially announce on Monday that N’Sakala has been removed from the squad. “Fabrice N’Sakala has been temporarily removed from the squad and will train separately from the main force.”

N’Sakala was taken over by Besiktas from Alanyaspor in the summer of 2020 and was regularly a basic player in his first season, but that is different this year. The left back has only played seven games this season, including ninety minutes in the 2-0 lost Champions League match in the Johan Cruijff ArenA against Ajax. However, N’Sakala was completely part of Besiktas’ match selection for the last five league games.

N’Sakala was frightened at the end of August when he suddenly collapsed during the game against Gaziantep. It soon became clear that N’Sakala was doing well, although he had to stay in the hospital for a while for observation. N’Sakala then played two more league games and three Champions League games for Besiktas. The last time he was in the match selection was at the beginning of November during the game between Sporting and Besiktas (4-0). The reigning champion of Turkey will be Ajax’s next opponent in the Champions League on Wednesday. Besiktas is still scoreless in Group C of the billion-dollar ball, but can still hope for a sequel in the Europa League if the next two matches against Ajax (home) and Borussia Dortmund (away) are won.
