Besiktas failed to win in the Turkish league for the second time in a row. Sergen Yalcin’s team played a sluggish game against Sivasspor, in which both teams barely created any chances. The best of them were for Sivasspor, but there were no goals: 0-0. Leader Besiktas still has three points ahead (and a better goal difference) on pursuer Fenerbahçe

In the first half, Besiktas had 69 percent possession of the ball, but the visitors were unable to produce a single shot on goal. Sivasspor was not given that either, although the home team was threatening just before half time with a failed header from Max Gradel. Shortly after halftime, Valentin Rosier got a shooting opportunity from inside the penalty area after a through pass from Rachid Ghezzal, but Besiktas’ right back sent the ball over under pressure from a defender.

Besiktas himself got away well a few minutes later, when Erdogan Yesilyurt saw three free teammates in front of the goal on behalf of Sivasspor. The right midfielder’s cross, however, was dramatic, so the moment was over. More than twenty minutes before the end, Sivasspor defender Samba Camara just headed over from a free kick. The game was then halted for a few minutes because a few stadium lights had failed, but was quickly resumed. Besiktas attacker Cyle Larin seemed to break through in the final phase, but was able to put little power behind the ball while sliding.
