Besiktas made no mistake on his way to the championship in Turkey on Wednesday. The team of Sergen Yalcin finally settled in an open match with Alanyaspor: 3-0. It could also have turned out worse for Besiktas if the visitors had handled their chances more carefully. In particular, Khouma Babacar’s miss just after the break was gigantic. Leader Besiktas takes a lead of respectively five and six points over Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.

In the first half, both teams were well matched, with great opportunities for both goals as a result. Cenk Tosun shot the ball on the crossbar on behalf of Besiktas, while the broken Juanfran on the other side bumped into Ersin Destanoglu’s feet. Besiktas then hit the bar again, this time via a header from Welinton. Moments later, it was still hit, when Atiba Hutchinson headed through a corner, so Tosun could enter from close range: 1-0. Alanyaspor should have tied the score before half time, but Adam Bareiro fired from close range.

Eight minutes after the break, an even bigger miss on the side of Alanyaspor followed. Bareiro put the ball wide on Babacar, who was able to slide the ball into an empty goal but missed in a rather incomprehensible way. Besiktas himself then looked for the attack again and saw Tosun just wide of the head. Rachid Ghezzal took care of the liberating 2-0 in the 57th minute, by curling the ball into the penalty area from outside.

Six minutes before the end, Besiktas expanded his lead. Georges-Kevin N’Koudou was able to continue on the left flank towards the goal of Alanyaspor and tapped the ball into the short corner: 3-0. Efkan Bekiroglu thought he would score an honorary goal on behalf of the visitors, but it was rejected due to offside.
