Besiktas suffered damage on his way to the championship of Turkey on Friday. The team of trainer Sergen Yalcin took the lead against Ankaragücü thanks to two own goals, which surprisingly both were credited to Ante Kulusic. However, the visitors came back via two penalties, both of which were used by Joseph Paintsil: 2-2. Kara Kartallar are still five points apart from pursuer Fenerbahçe.

After five minutes, Besiktas received a penalty, after Aliou Badji stood on the foot of Oguzhan Özyakup. The penalty kick was screwed up by Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, who produced a limp Panenka towards the right corner. Besiktas then had the ball almost continuously, but did not create too much. Cyle Larin came free in a difficult corner for goalkeeper Korcan Celikay, who quickly came out and saved with his feet.

A free kick by Rachid Ghezzal led to the opening goal in injury time. The ball was unluckily headed into own goal by Kulusic: 1-0. The Besiktas players dedicated the goal to teammate Cenk Tosun, whose shirt was held up on the sidelines. Tosun sustained a serious knee injury against Erzurum BB (2-4 win) on Sunday and was eliminated for a long time.

Seven minutes after the break, it was again hit for Besiktas. Kulusic wanted to head a dangerous hard cross from the right from Valentin Rosier and unluckily nodded the ball into his own goal: 2-0. Moments later, the scoring Rosier was called back for a minor foul off Joseph Paintsil. On the other side, Paintsil shot a penalty on behalf of Ankaragücü, after the Ghanaian went over the leg at Welinton: 2-1. Larin got a big shot at the decision, but headed right to Celikay. Besiktas seemed to get away with it, but got the lid on the nose in injury time. Gökhan Töre defeated Paintsil on the right side of the box and gave up another penalty, which was again used by Paintsil: 2-2.
