The season seems to be going out like a candle for Besiktas. The Under Karaveli team was surprised by Kayserispor on Wednesday in the Turkish cup tournament: 1-2. This means that the last chance of a prize has been lost for Besiktas, which finished at the bottom of the group in the Champions League and is disappointingly sixth in the competition.

Besiktas’ defense was asleep in the sixth minute and let Mario Gavranovic control a long ball on the chest from a dangerous position. The Kayserispor striker took advantage of a clash between two Besiktas defenders and made a controlled hit. The home team fought its way back into the game just before half-time with a wonderfully smooth attack. Atiba Hutchinson put wide on Valentin Rosier, who shot in from close range: 1-1.

Besiktas had most of the ball, but was surprised again by Kayserispor in the 65th minute. Miguel Cardoso appeared at the first post and was able to easily tap in a low cross: 1-2. Besiktas failed to recover that and ended the game with ten men. Deep into injury time, Rosier received his second yellow card.
