The draw for the quarterfinals of the Champions League has been announced. Arnaut Danjuma, who eliminated Matthijs de Ligt’s Juventus with Villarreal, has a tough job with Bayern Munich. Benfica is just as hard and has to deal with Liverpool in a diptych. The first quarter-finals will be played on April 5 and 6; the returns are scheduled a week later.

The draw has two absolute top posters. Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid face Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, while Manchester City and Atletico Madrid face off against each other. Danjuma has to face Bayern after the sensational elimination of Juventus; Benfica, which eliminated Ajax, must get rid of Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The winner of match 1 will meet the winner of match 2, giving the option of either an English or Spanish get-together. In the event that Real and Atlético meet, there will even be a Madrid derby. The matches in the semi-finals will be played on April 26 and 27 and May 3 and 4.
