Johan Bakayoko is still high on Bayern Munich's list, Belgian transfer market journalist Sacha Tavolieri assures. The PSV winger has been of interest to the German powerhouse for some time and if we are to believe Tavolieri, Bayern will officially report to Eindhoven in August.

The interest of the record champion Bakayoko mainly comes from Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl. The current head coach and sporting director of Bayern wanted to bring Bakayoko to their then employers, Burnley and RB Leipzig respectively, in 2023.

The duo have been fans of the Belgian for quite some time, who previously had little desire to leave PSV. Bakayoko saw Eindhoven as the ideal place to develop himself further and so the advances were rejected. How the 21-year-old right winger now views a departure from the Philips Stadium is unknown.

What is clear is that Kompany and Eberl have not given up their interest. According to Tavolieri, Bayern will report to PSV in 'mid-August'.

Before then, the number three of the last Bundesliga season will have to sell a number of players, it is said. Bayern does not have the financial means to allow themselves to sign Bakayoko without outgoing transfers.

Incidentally, Leipzig, despite the fact that Eberl no longer works there, is still in the race for the winger's signature. The Red Bulls are said to have even held talks with Bakayoko in recent weeks. Arne Slot's Liverpool still has the fourteen-time Belgian international on its wish list, although the interest of the Reds less concrete.

Peter Bosz recently indicated that he assumes that his selection will remain virtually intact. PSV does not need to sell any players to balance the budget.
