The transfer from Sergiño Dest to Bayern Munich is according to The Telegraph a big step closer. On Monday, the German superpower made a second offer in Amsterdam, approaching the asking price of Ajax. Director of player affairs Marc Overmars is asking a transfer fee of twenty million euros and five million in bonuses for the nineteen-year-old.

It Algemeen Dagblad emphasizes on Tuesday that an agreement has not yet been reached, but that the gap between supply and demand is getting smaller. The parties involved expect an agreement to be reached this week. Bayern reported to Dest and Ajax a week ago to discuss a transfer. According to the daily, a personal agreement between the right back and Bayern is not an obstacle, making a transfer seem like a matter of time.

Ten Hag about Dest: ‘Nice that there is so much interest in Ajax players’

Ajax has tried to break open and extend Dest’s contract that runs until mid-2022. The defender, however, did not like that and has set his sights on a transfer. Reportedly, Barcelona has also targeted him. According to Mundo Deportivo the Catalans would be after a rental deal with an option to buy. Thanks to Bayern’s decisiveness, Barcelona seems to be behind the net.

The Telegraph writes that Ajax did not want to run the risk of an injury from Dest in the first two league games of this Eredivisie season. That is why the American international should have taken a seat on the couch. However, Dest came in early against Sparta Rotterdam (0-1 win) after a red card for Nicolás Tagliafico, while he came on in the final phase against RKC Waalwijk (3-0 win) last Sunday.
