In Nyon, Switzerland, the draw for the quarter finals in the Champions League took place around noon on Friday. With Bayern Munich against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid against Liverpool, there are two absolute top posters. The matches in the quarter finals are scheduled for Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7, and Tuesday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 14.

Cup holder Bayern Múnchen had little trouble with Lazio in the eighth final. Paris Saint-Germain, last year losing finalist, was responsible for the elimination of coach Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona. After the 1-4 victory at the Camp Nou, the 1-1 in Paris was enough for a place in the quarterfinals. Hakim Ziyech had a large share in the elimination of Atlético Madrid (2-0) on Wednesday with a goal, while the first leg in Spain was also already won: 0-1. Star player Erling Braut Haaland’s Borussia Dortmund ended the European aspirations of Luuk de Jong’s Sevilla.

Liverpool, winner of the Champions League in 2019, can still knit a nice end to a predominantly disappointing season in a European context. FC Porto caused a stunt in the eighth final by eliminating title favorite Juventus. Manager Pep Guardiola hopes that he will finally get past the quarter-final in the billion-dollar ball with Manchester City. Real Madrid, last winner in 2018, was not surprised in the eighth final by the Atalanta of Hans Hateboer, Marten de Roon, Sam Lammers and Robin Gosens.

Full draw in the Champions League quarter-final:
