The future of Sergiño Dest has been a topic of discussion for weeks and it seemed in recent days that Bayern Munich had the best papers for the arrival of the fullback from Ajax. Late Tuesday evening, however, the news comes from Spain that Barcelona appears to be the new employer of the American international.

Among other TV3 and Sport report an agreement between Barcelona and Ajax on a transfer from Dest. The transfer of the right back is said to involve an amount of twenty million euros in the first instance. This sum can increase by another five million by means of a bonus construction.

Barcelona was previously mentioned as a candidate for Dest, but the club of trainer Ronald Koeman could only work on new players if space was first made through the departure of a number of old-timers. With Arturo Vidal already going to Internazionale and Luis Suárez and Nélson Semedo leaving shortly, this space now seems to be there.

Dest will replace Semedo at Camp Nou, who is well on his way to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Although Barcelona or the Premier League club have not yet reported a transfer, the Portuguese has already said goodbye to Barça on social media. In a short message, he expresses a word of thanks for the past three seasons.
