Julian Nagelsmann will be with Bayern Munich next season for the group, Fabrizio Romano and others confirm BILD. Der Rekordmeister has reached an agreement with RB Leipzig on the transfer of the coach, who will become the most expensive trainer of all time. According to BILD Bayern pays a maximum of twenty million euros.

Nagelsmann will sign for five seasons and will succeed Hansi Flick at Bayern, who will stop at the end of the season. The leader of the Bundesliga will initially pay an amount of fifteen million euros for the services of Nagelsmann. That amount can go up by five million euros through performance-related bonuses. That variable amount is linked to winning certain prizes.

The transfer fee is therefore a lot lower than RB Leipzig initially envisaged. Those Roten Bullen demanded, according to various media, thirty million euros to terminate Nagelsmann’s contract, which runs until mid-2023, but have reportedly agreed to a substantial discount for Bayern. The record for the most expensive trainer ever was held for ten years by André Villas-Boas, who went from FC Porto to Chelsea for fifteen million euros in 2011.

Nagelsmann is expected to be presented by Bayern very soon. Nagelsmann was appointed as head coach of TSG Hoffenheim five years ago at the age of 28. He thus became the youngest trainer of all time in the Bundesliga. He led Hoffenheim from the danger zone to qualifying for the Champions League. After three full seasons, he decided to move to Leipzig. With his current club, he reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, in which Paris Saint-Germain proved too strong over two matches. This season, Leipzig seems to be going to finish in second place in the German top competition under Nagelsmann.
