The line-up of Feyenoord for the home match against NEC is known. Trainer Arne Slot has had to make one necessary substitution, as he does not have access to the injured Marcus Pedersen. His place in the back right is taken by Lutsharel Geertruida, he already revealed on Friday during the closing press conference. Slot leaves his team in tact compared to the midweek game against sc Heerenveen (3-1).

Pedersen collided hard with teammate Gernot Trauner in the away game against PSV (0-4) and had to leave the field on a stretcher, but according to Slot, the injury has nothing to do with that, he said during the press conference on Friday. “He did not come out of Wednesday’s game against Heerenveen completely well, he is not in the selection either,” said the Feyenoord coach. “It is not pleasant that he is injured, but it is nice that you can have a player like Lutsharel Geertruida.”

Slot again opts for three midfielders against NEC with Jens Toornstra, Guus Til and Orkun Kökçü, as he also did against Heerenveen. Bryan Linssen, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Luis Sinisterra are, as usual, at the forefront. Slot expects his team to make the game against NEC. “That has been the case in all matches this season, except for the match in Eindhoven. Also against FC Utrecht we were the team that had the ball most often and had to try to force something, which we did not often succeed. We had to make the game in all matches against PSV.”

For Slot, personal success is up for grabs. as he has won every home game of Feyenoord in all competitions to date: five. The last trainer who managed to win the first six matches was interim trainer Clemens Westerhof in December 1980.

Line-up Feyenoord: Bijlow; Geertruida, Senesi, Trauner, Malacia; Til, Toornstra, Kökçü; Jahanbakhsh, Linssen, Sinisterra
