Donny van de Beek is in the starting line-up of Manchester United on Tuesday evening for the first group match in the Champions League against BSC Young Boys. The midfielder has not yet had a base place in an official game this season, but this time he will receive the confidence of coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The match in the Stade de Suisse in Bern starts on Tuesday evening at 6.45 pm.

Due to injuries, Solskjaer has already had to steal a few games without Scott McTominay, one of Van de Beek’s competitors in midfield. On Saturday, the trainer opted for a controlling block against Newcastle United (4-1) with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, but this time Van de Beek forms a duo with Fred. That’s what Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho stand for. Cristiano Ronaldo also has a starting spot and faces his 177th game in the Champions League, equaling the record set by Iker Casillas.

Manchester United line-up: DeGea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, VandeBeek; Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo.
