The name of Bas Dost belongs to Feyenoord, Mikos Gouka reports. The Feyenoord watcher of the General Newspaper predicts in the newspaper’s football podcast that the 32-year-old striker ‘would shoot twenty in De Kuip’. Dost has to make do with the last two games at Club Brugge with a role as bench seat.

Club Brugge took over Dost from Eintracht Frankfurt six months ago for four million euros. Since then, he has scored 11 goals and 3 assists for the reigning champion of Belgium in 26 games. Dost started this season in the Supercup match against KRC Genk and the competition matches against KAS Eupen and Union Saint Gillis, but had to settle for a reserve role in the last two games against Cercle Brugge and Zulte Waregem. Trainer Philippe Clement chose Noa Lang and Charles De Ketelaere in the front line.

The contract of Dost – who in the past played for FC Emmen, Heracles Almelo, sc Heerenveen, VfL Wolfsburg, Sporting Portugal and Eintracht Frankfurt – in Belgium will continue until mid-2022. “It is clear that Feyenoord could use something in the front” , says Gouka. “Bas Dost’s name falls, for example. That is not a boy you sell on, but of course he shoots twenty in De Kuip.”

The name of Giorgios Giakoumakis was also linked to Feyenoord. “It’s a finisher, but I don’t think it will come to that. The money is currently running out, although something will come in if Feyenoord qualifies for the Conference League,” says Gouka. Marco Bogers, general manager of VVV-Venlo, confirmed to the Limburger Werder Bremen is seriously interested in Giakoumakis and he expects the German club to come forward with an offer soon. VVV reportedly wants five million euros for Giakoumakis.
