Barcelona on the brink of signing Emre Demir, Turkish reports TRT Sporo. The Spanish top club has reached an agreement in principle with the seventeen-year-old midfielder of Kayserispor, who is known in Turkey as a great talent. Barcelona have yet to come to terms with Kayserispor and have made an initial offer of two million euros.

Turkish Emre Demir is not related to Yusuf Demir, the eighteen-year-old Austrian talent who made the switch from Rapid Wien to Barcelona this summer. The former holds the record for youngest ever goalscorer in the Süper Lig. Emre Demir was only 15 years and 299 days old when he scored against Gençlerbirligi in 2019. In total, the attacking midfielder already has an impressive 31 official appearances for Kayserispor, in which he scored 3 times and provided 1 assist. In ten of those games, Demir started in the starting line-up.

Demir cannot make the switch to Barcelona until January 15, on his eighteenth birthday. It is also possible that Barca choose to let the midfielder finish the season in Turkey. At the Camp Nou, a five-year contract is ready for Demir, who was also on an internship at Barcelona at the age of twelve.
