Anthony Martial does not see a loan to Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle United. The French attacker still wants to leave Manchester United, but only sees Barcelona, Juventus and Sevilla as possible options to finish the season. Martial did not go further than 359 minutes at Manchester United this season, partly due to injuries. His agent said in December that finishing the season at Old Trafford is not an option for the attacker. According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Martial can count on the interest of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, but sees nothing in a transfer within England. Barcelona, Juventus and Sevilla, on the other hand, are seen as possible options by the thirty-time international of France.
Romano reports that Manchester United are only willing to let his attacker until the end of the season if his full salary is taken and a rental fee is put on the table by interested clubs. Since last weekend, the relationship between Martial and his manager Rangnick has been under pressure. The German coach assured Saturday after the points split against Aston Villa (2-2) that he would not have the attacker at his disposal because he had refused to be part of the match selection for the game in Birmingham.
“Martial did not want to be in the selection,” Rangnick said after the press conference. “He would normally have been in the match selection, but he refused. That is why he had not traveled with us yesterday (Friday, ed.).” Martial’s reaction followed quickly via social media. “I will never refuse to play a game for Manchester United,” the attacker emphasized on his Instagram. “In seven years I have never shown no respect for the club and the fans and I never will.”
