Ansu Fati can definitely call himself a player of the main force of Barcelona. The Catalan superpower reports on Wednesday afternoon via the club channels that the seventeen-year-old attacker has officially been transferred to the first selection and will play with the number 22 shirt next season. He takes this number from Arturo Vidal, who recently left for Internazionale.

Barcelona adds that the escape clause in Fati’s contract has been increased from 170 million euros to 400 million. The youngster already signed a new commitment in December last year, running until 2022, raising his clause from 100 million to 170 million. At the time, it was also agreed that this provision in his contract would increase to 400 million once he made the permanent move to the main force. Barça also has the option to extend the agreement for two seasons.

Fati made his debut for Barcelona at the beginning of last season and the left winger is considered one of the key players for the future in Catalonia. The counter now stands at 33 duels in the first, in which he managed to score 8 times. Fati has also worked his way up to an international for Spain and played two games on behalf of the Southern European country for the time being. Last month he was immediately accurate against Ukraine in his second international match.

The talent missed the first two games of the preparation under his new trainer Ronald Koeman due to an injury, but was back in the fight for the Trofeu Joan Gamper against Elche. It is therefore expected that Fati will be available next Sunday when Barcelona plays its first LaLiga match against Villarreal.
