Barcelona has captured 17-year-old Fabio Blanco from Eintracht Frankfurt, reports Sport. The attacker will initially join Barcelona B and will sign for 2.5 years. The Catalans are reportedly only paying any performance bonuses for Blanco, who made the switch from Valencia to Frankfurt last summer.

The day after the incorporation of Ferran Torres, Barcelona has already brought in another reinforcement. Blanco comes over from Frankfurt and will become part of Barca’s U23 squad. The winger was already close to a move to Barcelona last summer when he decided to leave Valencia on a free transfer. Both Barca and Real Madrid were after the talent, but Blanco preferred a move to Frankfurt at the time.

Under coach Oliver Glasner, Blanco has not yet had any opportunities in the first team this season, after which Barcelona acted quickly and managed to sign the Spanish youth international. Blanco is an old acquaintance of José Ramón Alexanco, current director of youth academy of Barça, who signed him a few years ago from Almería as a youth player at Valencia.

Blanco signs a contract with Barcelona for 2.5 years and will be on the training field in Catalonia with Gavi, among others. The two played together in the youth teams of Spain. According to Sport Certain agreed conditions of Blanco’s contract have not been complied with, which means that he leaves for Barcelona almost free of charge. Through performance bonuses, the German club may still have a small amount left over from the transfer.
