Álex Baena reports Federico Valverde. The Real Madrid midfielder dealt a blow to Baena after the match between the teams in Santiago Bernabéu. Villarreal says in a statement that it is against any form of violence and fully supports its player. The confrontation between the two did not come out of the blue. Baena is said to have told Valverde in January that “he should cry now that his son would not see the light of day.” Valverde’s wife threatened to lose the child at the time, but in the end it turned out well.

Villarreal will announce the news about the declaration on Sunday evening. “Confronted with the situation, the player has decided to press charges against the aggressor. Villarreal rejects any form of violence, believes the story of the player (Baena, ed.) and will support him during this process.” The Uruguayan midfielder of Real would have deliberately waited for his opponent to deal blows in the face. Valverde and Baena were already fighting each other during the match and twice it seemed to turn into a fight. Afterwards, it actually came to a confrontation. Real’s controller promised to wait for his 21-year-old opponent during the match and that got completely out of hand.

The fighting parties could be kept apart with difficulty and before that time Valverde dealt several punches in the face of Baena. The fight would have been captured on video by people from Villarreal and the club was already considering reporting to the police. Screenshots are already circulating on social media of a message from Xisco Nadal, team manager of Villarreal, who has called Valverde a coward. The camp around Valverde has already responded to the incident and confirmed that blows have been dealt, but also made it clear that Baena has not been impeccable.

Baena is said to have told Valverde in January, when Real visited Villarreal for the Copa del Rey, that “he should cry now that his son would not see the light of day”. At the time, Valverde’s wife was in danger of losing their second child because of complications during the pregnancy. In the end, the child was born healthy, but Valverde had not forgotten the comments and promised during the game that he would stand up for his family. Real Madrid, LaLiga and the main players themselves have not yet responded to the incident.
