AZ hopes to strengthen itself in the short term with Denzo Kasius. The Alkmaarders have according to The Telegraph submitted a bid of 3 million euros to Bologna to incorporate the Dutch right back. AZ is reportedly getting stiff competition from Club Brugge, which is willing to pay the same transfer fee for Kasius.

With the possible arrival of Kasius, AZ wants to respond to the approaching departure of Sam Beukema. The 24-year-old mandekker is just about to transfer to Bologna. Kasius must therefore take the opposite route. The right wing defender went through the youth academy of Sparta, Feyenoord and ADO before making his professional debut at FC Utrecht. After a rental period at FC Volendam, he earned a transfer to Bologna last January. In the past six months, he came out on loan for Rapid Wien, where he recorded 2 assists in 12 games.

AZ’s previously reported interest in Kasius is being continued The Telegraph confirmed. The number four of the last Eredivisie season is said to have already made an offer of 3 million euros for the right back. Club Brugge is also interested in the twenty-year-old defender, although AZ still has the best papers to recruit the right back. Yukinari Sugawara is currently the only real right back that trainer Pascal Jansen has at his disposal.

Thomas Beelen is also emphatically in the picture at AZ to succeed Beukema. The Alkmaarders have already made a bid of 1.5 million euros for the center defender of PEC Zwolle, who is also in the interest of FC Twente. The Zwolle doctoral candidate is sticking to the asking price of 3 million euros for the time being. With the sale of Beukema, AZ seems to have the best credentials to ultimately win the battle for Beelen.
