Ruben van Bommel will play in the Eredivisie next season, the coveted talent says opposite ESPN. The attacker had to watch how his current club MVV Maastricht was eliminated in the play-offs on Saturday evening by NAC Breda, so that the Limburgers can forget about promotion. That does not apply to Van Bommel, who confirms that he will play at the highest level next season. It is still unclear which club it concerns exactly.

Reporter Leo Oldenburger points out that Van Bommel himself this season in the picture has played. “I was able to help the team (this season, ed.) And fortunately yes, so that’s great,” Van Bommel responds. “Make a step now and on to next season.” When asked whether he can still be admired in Maastricht next season, Van Bommel is clear. “No. It’s not clear where I’m going yet.” The eighteen-year-old attacker does confirm that he will make a step to the Eredivisie. “It won’t be long now, let me put it this way.” The attacker then accepts Oldenburger’s congratulations for his move to the Eredivisie.

Earlier it came out that both FC Twente and AZ have already had talks with the son of Royal Antwerp coach Mark van Bommel. Reported on top of that Football International that Go Ahead Eagles has also joined the list of very interested clubs. It is therefore still uncertain which club it will actually be. It should come as no surprise that Van Bommel has put himself in the spotlight. He scored fifteen times, delivered three assists and was named Talent of the Year in the Kitchen Champion Division, partly because of those figures.

When it becomes Go Ahead, he follows in the footsteps of his father-in-law Bert van Marwijk. The former national coach of the Dutch started his career there as a player. The people of Deventer will therefore not encounter MVV in the Eredivisie for the time being. The Star Bearers had to make up for a 1-0 defeat from the first leg on Saturday evening, but did not succeed in doing so. Thanks to hits from Elías Már Ómarsson, Sabir Agougil and Ezechiel Banzuzi, NAC led 0-3 after half an hour. After the break, the team from Breda ran out to a 1-4 win, meaning they will compete against FC Emmen in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
