Justin Kluivert’s future actually seems to lie with RB Leipzig. In recent days, there has been plenty of speculation about the future of the 22-year-old attacker and it is now becoming clear what the plans of AS Roma are. The Serie A club would like to use Kluivert to bring Marcel Sabitzer to the Stadio Olimpico, the author assures La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Roma interest in Sabitzer seems to have a logical reason: José Mourinho. In his time as manager of Tottenham Hotspur, he already tried to attract the midfielder annex Austrian international. RB Leipzig, however, asked for the top prize of fifty million euros for the 27-year-old Sabitzer. Mourinho will be for the selection of AS Roma from next season and now hopes to be successful.

La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that AS Roma wants to propose an amount of 25 million euros and Kluivert to bring Sabitzer to Italy. The sports newspaper seems to deny that the lease of the Dutchman with RB Leipzig contains an option to buy from ten to thirteen million euros. Italian media also wrote this week that agent Mino Raiola is in talks with AS Roma general manager Tiago Pinto about the final departure of the ex-Ajax player from Italy.

Sabitzer has been under contract with RB Leipzig since mid-2014, which first loaned the midfielder to sister club Red Bull Salzburg for a year. In German service, the counter stands at 225 duels and 51 goals in all competitions. Kluivert started the last two league games of the past season at Leipzig and also scored in both games. In total, the winger came to 29 official games, in which he scored 4 times and gave 1 assist. The Dutchman’s contract will end in the summer of 2023.
