Cengiz Ünder goes to work in the Premier League. Following reports from England, Italian transfer market experts Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano report on Saturday night an agreement between Leicester City and AS Roma about the midfielder and outdoor player. According to Romano, Ünder will be rented this season for 3 million euros, after which a mandatory option to buy 24 million euros comes into effect.

Ünder switched from Istanbul Basaksehir to AS Roma for at least 13.4 and a maximum of 14.9 million euros in 2017. He was regarded as one of Turkey’s greatest talents, so expectations were high. Nevertheless, Ünder was never able to develop into an undisputed basic player at the Series A club. In three seasons, the creative came up to 70 games in the league, in which he scored 13 times and prepared goals.

In the last two practice games of AS Roma, against Frosinone (1-4 victory) and Cagliari (2-2), Ünder scored this month. Nevertheless, coach Paulo Fonseca allowed him to look for a new employer. With a transfer fee of 27 million euros, AS Roma has about double the amount it had before he arrived. The contract of the 23-year-old Turk in the Stadio Olimpico lasted another three years.

At Leicester City, Turkey’s 21-fold international can sign a contract for five seasons. His official presentation is expected this week. The Foxeswho started the new season Sunday with a 0-3 victory over West Bromwich Albion, have been looking for reinforcements for the vanguard for some time now. For example, the club was interested in Francisco Trincão of Barcelona, but the superpower rejected an offer of forty million euros. Ünder usually plays on the right flank, despite being a left-footer.
