After the dramatic injury news for Leonardo Spinazzola, AS Roma continues. The Romans are looking for a temporary or permanent replacement for the 28-year-old Italian, who tore his Achilles tendon on Friday in the European Championship match with Belgium (2-1 win). Mitchell Dijks is one of the players AS Roma is thinking of, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio knows.

Dijks has been playing for Bologna for three years and is making a good impression in Serie A. The 28-year-old left wing defender, who came over from Ajax in 2018 on a free transfer, missed many matches last year due to injuries, but nevertheless made twenty appearances for Bologna. In total, Dijks, who is still fixed for two seasons, is ahead of 62 official games i Rossobluin which he scored twice.

An alternative to Dijks is Federico Dimarco, who seems unnecessary at Internazionale and has been rented out in recent years. In principle, the 23-year-old left wing defender will start preparing with Inter this summer after two seasons with Hellas Verona. According to Di Marzio, AS Roma is thinking about proposing an exchange deal or a lease.

Spinazzola was definitively diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles tendon on Saturday. The 28-year-old wingback, one of the stars at the European Championship, is therefore sidelined for five to six months. Jose Mourinho, AS Roma’s new coach, has already told Spinazzola that he will remain at the center of his future plans despite his serious injury.
