Arsenal have walked out on Manuel Locatelli, as you know La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Gunners were prepared to give Sassuolo’s 23-year-old midfielder an annual salary of three million euros. Locatelli, however, is not interested in a move to Arsenal and is determined to make a transfer to Juventus this summer.

Juventus is also concrete in the market for Locatelli, although an agreement with Sassuolo has not yet been reached. Goal last week reported that i Neroverdi had consigned an offer from Turin to the bin. Juventus first want to rent Locatelli from Sassuolo for a year, with a mandatory option to buy worth thirty million euros. Sassuolo has refused this proposal, because the number eight of the last Serie A season wants to face an amount of 40 million euros.

However, it is expected that Juventus and Sassuolo will approach each other in the coming days. The midfielder, who was part of the Italian selection that became European champions last month, would like to make the switch to Juventus and play Champions League himself. It leaves Arsenal without a chance, despite the fact that Locatelli can earn a hefty annual salary of three million euros in London.

Locatelli played in the youth academy of Atalanta and AC Milan, before he made the final move to Sassuolo in 2018 on a rental basis and a year later for fourteen million euros. The fifteen-time Italian international played a total of 99 games for Sassuolo and still has a contract at the Mapei Stadium until mid-2023, but has recently been explicitly linked to a transfer.
