Arsenal failed to win the Premier League for the fourth time in a row on Saturday. Mikel Arteta’s team had a difficult time visiting the well-performing Brighton & Hove Albion and can thank goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for some nice saves in the final phase: 0-0. Arsenal are in ninth place, while Brighton is pretty fifth. With the home side, Joël Veltman played the entire game, while Jürgen Locadia remained on the bench.

Arsenal started well with a dribble down Bukayo Saka’s right wing, who produced a weak shot. Brighton then took the initiative firmly in their hands and the visitors came under pressure. Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale released a pass from Neal Maupay, after which Lewis Dunk should have scored in the rebound, but missed. Leandro Trossard failed to land a cross from Adam Lallana, while Dan Burn headed straight over. Maupay tried with a half bicycle kick, which went a few meters wide.

At the end of the first half, Arsenal came into the game better and a good shooting opportunity followed for Thomas Partey, who put the ball just wide from box. After the break, the chances turned out to be a lot scarcer and both teams were evenly matched. Brighton midfielder Jakub Moder placed the ball several yards wide from the edge of the penalty area. Emile Smith-Rowe was closer to a goal on the other side, but came across Robert Sánchez’s feet from about eight meters from a difficult corner.

Brighton had the better of the game in the final phase of the match. Marc Cucurella tried with a dangerous shot, which was cleverly tapped from the far corner by Ramsdale after the bounce. The Arsenal goalkeeper also prevented Solomon March from laying the ball ready for Maupay with his head.
