Manchester United are prepared to temporarily sell Antony, the British branch of ESPNThe Brazilian winger has failed to make an impact at Old Trafford in his first two years and is set to leave.

Antony made the switch from Ajax to Manchester United two years ago for 95 million euros, who offered him a contract until the summer of 2027 with the option of an additional season.

The market value of the attacker has now dropped from 75 million – when he arrived – to 25 million euros. A permanent departure is not yet a possibility, it is said.

An important condition is that Antony's new club must be prepared to pay his salary of 85,000 euros per week. In that case, United are prepared to cooperate in a departure.

“It feels like a clear-out but it is something that United have largely fought against in recent years because of the Glazers' policies,” said ESPN.

“They would rather pay 12 million in salary and let the player leave for free than spend an extra 23 million to sign a better player as a replacement.”

Manchester United have signed many young talents in recent years, but none of those players have yet managed to make an indelible impression.

Exorbitant amounts were paid for Jadon Sancho (taken over from Borussia Dortmund for 85 million euros) and Rasmus Højlund (taken over from Atalanta for 74 million euros), among others.

“With Leny Yoro, the club shows that it can indeed pay reasonable prices for young talent and that it can close deals on time. Jim Ratcliffe wants to get rid of the panic deals that often took place in recent transfer periods,” says ESPN.

“I would rather sign the next Mbappe than spend a fortune buying success,” Ratcliffe said in March. “Buying Mbappe is something anyone can think of. Finding the next Mbappe, Jude Bellingham or Roy Keane is a much bigger challenge.”
