Antoine Griezmann appears to have undergone a small transformation between all the formalities on Wednesday. The attacker, who returned to Atlético Madrid, still appeared on the training field with fairly long hair, but a few hours later at the official presentation, Griezmann can be seen with a short haircut. The attacker who left Barcelona will play in the Wanda Metropolitano with the shirt with number 8, it became clear on Wednesday.

Griezmann signed on Tuesday evening for both goals from France in the World Cup qualifier against Finland (2-0), which means that he now stands on 41 international goals. This put the attacker in line with illustrious predecessors Michel Platini (41), Olivier Giroud (46) and Thierry Henry (51), who also managed to pass the 40-goal mark. A day later, Griezmann reported to Atlético, where he was introduced to his new teammates by trainer Diego Simeone. His debut may already follow on Sunday in the away match of the reigning champions of Spain against Espanyol.

Griezmann therefore no longer has to deal with Ronald Koeman, who in an extensive interview with Sport elaborated on the break with the attacker from France. “Griezman had a great contract. If he left, he would help improve the club’s financial situation. That is why I agreed to his departure,” said Koeman, who brought Luuk de Jong to the Camp Nou as a replacement. Attracting the the Dutch international did not come out of the blue. “I had already spoken to him at the beginning of August.”
