Despite the fact that Internazionale was crowned champion of Italy for the first time since 2010 this season, the marriage with trainer Antonio Conte is about to burst. Where most Italian media report that the 51-year-old trainer will think about his future in the coming days, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport that he will be leaving before the weekend i Nerazzurri announces. The reason for this is the financial problems that hold Internazionale in its grip.

Suning Group – the Chinese owner of Internazionale – has run into problems, as a result of which, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, eighty million euros will have to be sold to players. That intention is against the sore leg of Conte, who wants to keep his best players so as not to change the ‘winning project’ that the club has now become under his leadership. Conte wanted investments to be made so that Internazionale could join the European top.

Where Romano reports that Conte will make a decision about his future in the coming days, he says La Gazzetta dello Sport that the trainer has already made his decision. The message that players must be sold last Saturday caused a furious reaction from Conte, who, according to the pink sports newspaper, has decided not to continue. The settlement of his contract, which will run until mid-2022, would now be negotiated, for which Conte will receive a lump sum payment of six million euros.

The news from Italy also directly causes speculation in Spain. Conte has been mentioned as the possible successor to Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. At the same time, Massimiliano Allegri, Maurizio Sarri and Sinisa Mihajlovic are considered the possible successors of Conte at Internazionale. Conte has been at the helm of Internazionale since the summer of 2019 and was explicitly associated with a departure a year ago. After the lost Europa League final against Sevilla, he hinted that he was going to leave, but surprisingly it became clear shortly after that he would still stay on.
