Paris Saint-Germain made it to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France without any problems on Wednesday evening. Mauricio Pochettino’s men showed no mercy for Angers, which scored five goals: 5-0. The absolute highlight of the evening was Ángel Di María’s rabona assist on the fourth goal, which was completed by Mauro Icardi. Mitchel Bakker started in the base and was relieved after 75 minutes by Layvin Kurzawa, who made his comeback.

Kylian Mbappé got some rest and stayed on the bench, but other big names such as Neymar and Di María did appear at the kick-off. After nine minutes, PSG already managed to open the score. Julian Draxler sent a subtle through ball from the center to Mauro Icardi, who finished one-on-one with goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle: 1-0. In the 23rd minute, the Parisians doubled their lead. Julian Draxler tapped the ball from close by on the Angers goalkeeper, after which it unluckily bounced off Vincent Manceau’s body and ended up in his own goal: 2-0.

Angers had some good opportunities to get back into the game in the remainder of the first half. The biggest chance was just before half time for Manceau, who could have made up for his own goal, but sent his volley just wide of the goal. Shortly after the break, a free kick by Di María skimmed over the roof of the goal. After more than an hour, Neymar made the decision. A marker from Draxler was lightly touched by goalkeeper Butelle, so that the Brazilian could head in the ball from close range: 3-0.

The best moment of the evening was yet to come, when Di María was reached in the penalty area three minutes later. The Argentinian first cut out two defenders at the same time and ended up just in front of the goal of Angers. Instead of shooting, Di María passed the ball behind his standing leg wide in front of Icardi, who was able to type in: 4-0. The final chord was also for the latter striker, who suddenly grabbed a high ball from the air and completed it beautifully: 5-0.
