Hakim Ziyech may be able to forget about his lucrative deal to Al-Nassr. French and English media state that problems have come to light during the medical examination of the former Ajax player. It is probably Ziyech’s knee, which he also experienced problems with during his apparent switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

It is not known exactly where the friction is in Ziyech’s knee. It is certain that the attacker annex midfielder was also rejected at Paris Saint-Germain last winter. The French superpower then had all kinds of other tests taken, which Ziyech did pass. In the end, it was Chelsea that let the deal collapse due to negligence in the paperwork.

Now Ziyech seems to be seeing another transfer through the nose. Al-Nassr and Chelsea had already largely agreed on a transfer of the Moroccan international. The Londoners would receive fifteen million euros, while Ziyech’s annual salary would be between twelve and thirteen million. However, there is a good chance that those agreements can go in the trash for good.

Ziyech was never able to secure a permanent base at Stamford Bridge, but, regardless of the collapsed deal with Al-Nassr, seems to be leaving this summer anyway. Especially last season he was only used sparingly. In the winter Ziyech already wanted to leave and that wish initially seemed to be granted. Chelsea’s administrative failure, however, put an end to his move to Paris Saint-Germain. In 2020, Chelsea transferred forty million euros to Ajax for Ziyech.

Update
According to Ben Jacobs, journalist at, among others CBS Sports, there is still a chance that Al-Nassr will still team up with Ziyech. After previous medical tests were negative, the club wants to schedule a new round on Friday. In doing so, a closer look must be taken at the hip and the knee, always Jacobs. Al-Nassr would not want to pull the plug on the deal just yet.
