Paris Saint-Germain has no plans to let Neymar go to Barcelona this summer. President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi of Paris Saint-Germain has this according to Catalunya Ràdio in a telephone conversation once again made clear to his colleague Joan Laporta of the Catalan superpower. The Barcelona president got the message that Neymar should be left alone. The Brazilian star player is still more than a year in Paris.

The Champions League semi-final elimination after two defeats against Manchester City does not diminish Al-Khelaïfi’s wish to keep Neymar at PSG. Barcelona does not have to try to bring back the attacker, who switched to France for 222 million euros in 2017. Laporta would love to see Neymar play with Lionel Messi again, but PSG’s chairman and owner are unwilling to open negotiations with Barcelona.

According to Catalunya Ràdio However, Laporta is not deterred by the phone call from Al-Khelaïfi. The chairman elected in March will continue to try to bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou, so it sounds from Spain. Barcelona’s transfer budget is by no means big for this summer. Nevertheless, the expensive Neymar is part of Laporta’s plan to take the club to a higher level in economic and sporting terms. The chairman hopes that the asking price for the attacker is less than half of the amount of 222 million euros that was touched four years ago. In addition, it is hoped in Barcelona that Messi Neymar can stay on.

The relationship between PSG and Barcelona has not been great since Neymar’s record transfer in 2017 and Laporta’s return as chairman has not helped relations for the time being. During his campaign in the run-up to the presidential election in early March, he made it clear that he was not served by PSG’s continued flirtation with Messi. Neymar seems to want to wait with his final choice for the time being. The PSG leadership is doing everything it can to extend its contract until 2022, but a final agreement between club and player has still not been reached.
