On Tuesday evening, Ajax Women became the first Dutch club to reach the quarter-finals in the UEFA Women's Champions League. The Amsterdam team won 2-1 against AS Roma in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in a very exciting match. Bayern Munich drew 2-2 against Paris Saint-Germain, finishing as number two in group C. PSG and AS Roma are eliminated.

Particularities:
Ajax Women had to take a blow when AS Roma captain Elisa Bartoli headed home at the far post after more than half an hour of play. Bayern had now also taken the lead, meaning Ajax certainly had to win. The comeback started in the final minute of the first half when Tiny Hoekstra scored the 1-1 with her first chance of the match.

More than fifteen minutes before the end, there was cheering in the ArenA when it became clear that PSG had drawn 1-1 against Bayern. However, the Germans quickly put things in order with the 2-1 just two minutes later. Elimination threatened for Ajax, which, however, did not give in. A corner kick from the left was headed into his own goal a few minutes before the end by substitute Zara Kramzar. The home club held out, saw Bayern draw, and thus wrote history in Dutch women's football.
