The Ajax leadership will issue a warning to the supporters on Wednesday. The Amsterdam club is concerned about season tickets and individual match tickets that are currently offered on the internet. In many cases it is about fraud. Ajax’s fancare account advises already duped supporters to immediately report it to the police. A special section of the Ajax website provides additional information about possible black market trade on the internet.

“How very annoying! If you have been scammed with the purchase of (season) tickets, we advise you to report it to the police at all times”, according to the statement issued by Ajax on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, because you did not buy the tickets via the official route and sometimes they do not even exist, we can not help you further. However, you can report black trade so that we can investigate this further. You can submit an application via mijn.ajax.nl. Upload your ticket(s) and send all other contact details of the supplier. We advise everyone to only purchase (season) tickets through our official sales channels.”

Internet scammers try to earn money on the backs of Ajax supporters through Marktplaats, among others. In some cases, season tickets are offered that do not exist at all. Shortly after the start of the sale of tickets for the group stage of the Champions League, the Ajax board also warned that scammers were active on the internet.
