A section with Ajax supporters was partly vacated in the Johan Cruijff ArenA shortly after the break on Tuesday evening. The reason was fireworks, which were thrown down from the branch by the supporters of Besiktas. According to commentator Sierd de Vos of Ziggo Sport, it concerned at least fifty to sixty fans of Ajax who had to leave their place.

The images were not shown on television, as UEFA wants to keep such incidents out of the picture as much as possible. According to supporters on Twitter, who massively share images of the eviction, it concerns section 117. “Away supporters throw down heavy fireworks”, someone writes on Twitter with a photo of the empty box. According to De Vos, some of the supporters initially refused to leave their seats.
