Remko Pasveer has made an extremely poor start to the first official match of the season for Ajax. The goalkeeper, who is surprisingly preferred over Diant Ramaj, opened against FK Vojvodina with three passes that did not arrive. On X, Ajax fans immediately wondered whether coach Francesco Farioli made the right decision.

Already in the third minute of the match, Pasveer messed up a free pass from his five-yard box. The ball was picked up by Njegos Petrovic, who tried it with a long-range shot. That went well over.

In the eighteenth minute, Pasveer made another big mistake. This time, the forty-year-old goalkeeper played the ball into the feet of Vukan Savicevic. There was a great threat to the Ajax goal, but the defense was just able to avert the danger.

Farioli explained in advance Ziggo Sport explains why Pasveer is preferred over Ramaj. “I have to try to put all the pieces together and to create the best possible chemistry,” Farioli began his explanation.

“I feel Remko has the personality and leadership that we need,” the Ajax coach said. “He did very well in the friendly matches.”

Ramaj reportedly wants to leave immediately, but for Farioli nothing is set in stone. “It is not a permanent decision, but it is the best decision at the moment, for today's game. Let's see the rest next week.”
