Ajax is purveyor to the National Team of the Week in the Europa League. The UEFA team, which is composed on the basis of an algorithm from the so-called FedEx Performance Zone, includes three players from Ajax with Nicolás Tagliafico, Ryan Gravenberch and Dusan Tadic. The team from Amsterdam triumphed 3-0 over Young Boys on Thursday.
Granada, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal provide two players for the week. The club from LaLiga beat Molde 2-0; Tottenham Hotspur triumphed 2-0 over Dinamo Zagreb and Arsenal recorded a 1-3 victory over Olympiacos, partly due to a nice long shot by Martin Ödegaard selected for the week team. Finally, after victories over Dynamo Kiev (0-2) and Shakhtar Donetsk (3-0), Villarreal and AS Roma are represented by one player.

Tagliafico and Tadic were reported in Football zone already assessed with a 7.5, while Gravenberch received a 6.5. Thanks to goals from Davy Klaassen, Tadic and Brian Brobbey, Ajax took a giant step towards the quarter finals of the Europa League. The return match in Switzerland is scheduled for next Thursday.
Moreover, Tadic himself is still fighting for an individual election. The captain of Ajax was one of the four candidates to become Player of the Week, UEFA announced on Friday. Its competitors are Harry Kane, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Roberto Soldado, who are also included in the Team of the Week. You can vote for one of the four nominees on the UEFA website.
