Nottingham Forest is investigating the possibilities of acquiring Chuba Akpom from Ajax in the final hours of Deadline Day, reports Fabrizio Romano. The Italian transfer market expert immediately adds that it will be difficult for the Premier League club to do business in Amsterdam so late.

There has been interest in Akpom for some time, although Forest has not previously been in the market for the English attacker, who is under contract with Ajax until 2028. The French Lille OSC, among others, already made an attempt in Amsterdam and Football International reported earlier this week that several Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace, and Bundesliga teams are also closely monitoring the attacker's situation.

Ajax reportedly already rejected a bid from Lille for Akpom. The French wanted to rent him with an option to buy, but the current number five in the Eredivisie did not want to hear that.
