Latest update:

Ajax hopes for a quick agreement with OGC Nice about head coach Francesco Farioli, it is reported Football International Saturday morning. The Amsterdam club has almost reached an agreement with the Italian trainer himself and hopes to reach an agreement with his employer after Nice's last league match.

Journalists Tim van Duijn and Lentin Goodijk sit on behalf of VI on top of the news. According to the duo, things can move quickly in the coming days. “Now that Nice can no longer qualify for Champions League football, things could gain momentum.”

The weekly magazine states that an agreement between Ajax and Nice is only a 'matter of time', while Farioli himself has almost reached a deal with the Amsterdam team. The 35-year-old trainer is still contracted in Nice until mid-2025, making an agreement with the French club necessary. The asking price for the ambitious Farioli is as yet unknown.

Nice will play an away match next weekend when they visit LOSC Lille. The kick-off of that match is scheduled for Sunday evening at 9:00 PM. Ajax then hopes to iron out the last wrinkles with the number five of Ligue 1.

More soon.
