Ajax and SC Paderborn 07 are in talks about a partnership, chairman Elmar Volkmann says in conversation with kicker. According to the German driver, it should be a collaboration that will help both clubs move forward in the sporting field.

SC Paderborn set up a partnership with RB Leipzig two years ago. Partly because supporters were fiercely against such a collaboration, it was soon broken. To help the club further, the club management went looking for a new partner and seems to have found one in Ajax, which previously entered into partnerships with Sharjah FC, Guanghzou R&F, Sagan Tosu and Sydney FC.

“Talks are underway”, Volkmann responds about a possible collaboration with Ajax. The chairman of the number two of the 2.Bundesliga does not reveal much about the way of working together with the team from Amsterdam. “Everything takes place in the sporting field,” he says. According to kicker This includes exchanging information about training and scouting methods.

Paderborn, founded in 1907, was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2014, only to be relegated again the following season. In the 2018/19 season, the club returned to the highest level. Even then Paderborn only lasted a year in the Bundesliga. Last season, the club finished in ninth place.
