Ryan Sessegnon is still in the picture at Ajax. The Telegraph reported in August that the team from Amsterdam are interested in the left midfielder annex back of Tottenham Hotspur as a possible successor to Nicolás Tagliafico, who is still linked to a departure from the Johan Cruijff ArenA. According to The Athletic Ajax Sessegnon has not yet been forgotten.

Ajax had previously claimed The Telegraph informed about the availability of 20-year-old Sessegnon, who made the switch from Fulham to Tottenham last year for 27 million. The story went that Ajax wanted to take over Sessegnon on a rental basis. However, Ajax is not the only club with an interest in the English talent.

Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton, Leeds United and Hertha BSC also have an interest in Sessegnon, while Fulham has previously been linked to the youngster. The mentioned clubs want to rent it with an option to buy, but the Londoners prefer to rent the left leg only. Sessegnon has not yet taken action this season on behalf of Tottenham, which is open to a temporary departure.

Tagliafico has been associated with a transfer in recent months, but it now seems that the Argentinian is still staying in Amsterdam. Both The Telegraph as Football International reported that director of football affairs Marc Overmars has submitted a new contract offer to the back. Tagliafico can break open, upgrade and extend its ongoing commitment until mid-2022.
