Ajax, Feyenoord and Vitesse have expressed their interest in Jay Gorter, so reports De Gelderlander. The twenty-year-old goalkeeper of Go Ahead Eagles has left an excellent impression in his first season as a basic player at the highest level and can be taken over for 750,000 euros.

At Vitesse, Gorter is in the picture as a possible successor to Remko Pasveer, who is transfer-free to Ajax. The 37-year-old goalie was only offered a one-year contract in Arnhem and then decided to sign in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, where a two-year contract was ready. Gorter will be with Go Ahead Eagles until mid-2024.

Gorter played in the youth of Ajax and AZ and moved to Go Ahead Eagles in 2018. After a year with the youth division, the goalie was transferred to the first team, for which he made his debut on October 29, 2019 in the TOTO KNVB Cup against Almere City. Since last summer, Gorter has been the undisputed number one under the bar at Go Ahead. The talented goalkeeper kept the zero in the Kitchen Champion Division 24 times this season, breaking the record of Tonnie van Leeuwen, who reached 23 duels without a goal 50 years ago. Gorter only missed one league game this season, that was because of the corona virus.
